Francis is about 17 miles east of Park City and approximately 50 miles east of Salt Lake City. Woodland is situated roughly 30 miles east of Park City and 60 miles east of Salt Lake City, near the western edge of the Uinta Mountains. The area is renowned for its stunning natural scenery, forests, rivers, and proximity to the Uinta National Forest. The Provo River runs through the region, providing opportunities for fishing and other outdoor activities.

Homes in Francis and Woodland are zoned for the South Summit School District, with schools located in the nearby city of Kamas.
