Deer Valley Agrees To Operate Mayflower Resort

It is official! Deer Valley Resort, owned by Alterra Mountain Company, and Extell, the developer of Mayflower Mountain Resort, have finally come to an agreement and announced what they call “the largest ski resort expansion in ski resort history”. Under this long-term operational agreement, the Mayflower resort area will become part of Deer Valley. It will be fully integrated into the Deer Valley experience and brand.

This expansion will more than double Deer Valley’s skiable terrain, adding 16 new lifts, approximately 130 ski runs, four on-mountain restaurants, and a new 10-passenger gondola. One to three lifts are expected to run at the soft opening for the winter of 2024/2025. It will take approximately three ski seasons for the project to be complete. A significant portion of the new lifts and trails are set to open as early as the 2025/2026 ski season.

Once completed, Deer Valley® will offer 5,726 acres of skier-only terrain. Park City Mountain Resort offers 7,300 acres. In anticipation of the 2030 Winter Olympics which could potentially be held in Utah, Extell is hoping for the majority of infrastructure and village build-out to be completed by then.

Over 3,100 acres of ski acres have a conservation easement which will be overseen by Utah Open Lands. Utah Open Lands is aiming to connect trails in the Bonanza Flats area with those in the Wasatch Mountain State Park, creating over 50 miles of trails.

VELVAERE

Velvaere will be a 60-acre wellness community with direct ski-in ski-out access, year-round mountain adventure, an integrative wellness center, and a family adventure center. Floor plans will range from cozy three bedrooms to spacious five bedrooms. Each residence will feature a wellness experience based on the owner’s choice. There will be options to include in-home light therapy, plunge pools, saunas, steam rooms, and more. The first homes are set to be completed in early 2024.

The Lodge at Stillwater will undergo a major renovation, and two additional buildings will be added. Completion is anticipated for Q4 of 2024. The two new buildings will offer 60 new residences. 1, 2, and 3-bedroom floor plans are available. Amenities will include an updated pool area with a waterfall, Jacuzzis, steam room, sauna, a restaurant, and parking garage. 1-bedrooms will start in the upper $500,000s. 3-bedrooms ranging from $900,000 to just above $1m.

Founders Place is located in Deer Crest adjacent to the new Mayflower base area. Founders Place is brought to you by the same developer as Argent and One Empire. The developer has broken ground for the new ski-in ski-out development in Deer Crest. They are currently selling the second phase. The building, Helen, is situated directly across from the Mountaineer Express lift, with views of the mountain and the Jordanelle reservoir.

Five of the 3 and 4-bedroom residences are still available for sale.

Mayflower Lakeside is located close to the Jordanelle Marina and State Park entrance. It features a mix of stacked condominiums and townhomes. Like most of the properties in this part of the Jordanelle, a Dial-Ride shuttle is supposed to connect homeowners and guests to the new base area.

The 2-bedroom condos start at approximately $900,000 and the spacious townhomes start at $1.89m.

Skyridge features 473 premier homesites and amenities will include a golf academy, an equestrian center, clubhouses with a pool, and a restaurant.

The clubhouse, golf academy, golf course, and equestrian center are all under construction. The golf course will be a 3-hole mountain course that can also be played as a 9-hole, par-3 course. The equestrian center will include indoor and outdoor arenas, as well as a 32-stall barn. Skyridge allows nightly rentals with a 3-night minimum. A dial-a-ride shuttle system is proposed to connect owners to Mayflower Resort and Deer Valley.
