Ski Resort Updates and Opening Dates for 2024/25
The winter season is just around the corner, and Park City is gearing up for another exciting year on the slopes. Here are the latest updates and opening dates for Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort, and Woodward, including new terrain, improved facilities, and key events to look forward to.
Deer Valley Resort
Opening Date: November 30, 2024
Deer Valley Resort continues to expand its offerings with exciting updates as part of the Deer Valley East Village development:
- New Terrain: Adding 300+ acres of skiable terrain and several new runs.
- Chairlift Additions:
- The Keetley Express, Deer Valley’s first 6-person chairlift with a bubble, is set to open in December 2024. It will connect East Village to Bald Mountain near the Sultan Express.
- Two additional lifts, the Hoodoo Express and Aurora, will serve beginner trails and provide access back to East Village.
- Enhanced Accessibility: A new entrance via U.S. Route 40 will feature 500 additional parking spots, helping reduce traffic congestion in Park City.
Construction on the new Deer Valley East Village base area will continue over the coming ski seasons, bringing even more improvements to the iconic Deer Valley resort.
Park City Mountain Resort
Opening Date: November 22, 2024
Park City Mountain Resort is kicking off the season with exciting enhancements:
- Snowmaking Improvements: Upgrades focused on the Chicane and Another World runs at Canyons Village to ensure more early-season terrain availability, potentially allowing lift to open sooner than in previous seasons.
- Sunrise Gondola Replacement: A new 6,500-foot, 10-passenger gondola is scheduled to debut for the 2025/26 winter season. The base terminal will be conveniently located near Pendry Park City and The Lift, with the final destination in the Red Pine area. This upgrade is designed to enhance overall flow and circulation in the Canyons Village base area, reducing wait times and providing a smoother experience for skiers and riders.
- Olympic Winter Games Venue: Park City Mountain will proudly host several events during the Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake City-Utah 2034, including men’s and women’s snowboarding halfpipe, slopestyle, and freestyle skiing competitions.
Woodward
Opening Dates:
- Tubing Lanes: Early Access on November 22, 2024 (1–6 PM)
- Hot Laps Chairlift: Planned for November 29, 2024
Woodward is kicking off winter with early access to tubing lanes on Friday, November 22, followed by a fun-filled event on Saturday, November 23, featuring giveaways, music, and free s’mores from 12–2 PM.
The Hot Laps chairlift is expected to open on November 29, while snowmaking efforts will continue into early January to prepare the entire resort for the season.
